In the U.S. it is estimated that one in every 200 girls between 13 to 19 yrs old,cut themselves regularly. As students walk the halls of Calhoun middle school. You never know what struggles students are faced with. They hide behind smiles, conversations with friends and hide behind lowered heads. Their struggles aren't easy to talk about with people. Even if they don't trust people.
Eli was a sixth-grader at this middle school who linked up with bad influences in her circle of friends, acquaintances, and strangers. She was convinced that cutting herself was the only thing that made her feel better and make her forget her problems for a while based on what people had said. A teacher found her cutting her wrists with a sharp object in the cafeteria. The cuts were ocean deep. Who would have thought somebody that always acted so cheerful would be hurting herself to hide away her problems. She was admitted to a mental hospital. She was there for a few months and is now better.

ReplyDeleteI liked how you transitioned, and how you talked about the subject,I could understand it. Maybe next time you could put another mental health fact about it? I don't really have any critique for this. It was good.
